Tom Baker has returned to the role of the Fourth Doctor, in a partial remake of incomplete episode ‘Shada’.
About 70% of the exterior footage had been completed and some indoor connecting footage. However, a BBC strike meant it was abandoned and unsuccessful attempts to remount it into production, didn’t happen.
It’s been 36 years, since Tom Baker last officially played the role of the Fourth Doctor. At 83 year’s old, his love of all things Doctor Who doesn’t seem to have diminished.
Baker will film a new live action scene for the final production – on a recreated set of the Fourth Doctor’s Tardis. The rest of the missing scenes, will be recreated with animation for a future DVD release.
