Who Is Your Who?
Doctor Who (the classic era), is one of those unique programmes – where the show can be split into different era’s. Be it a new Doctor, change of direction or production staff. Meaning that, everyone may have – a differing favourite.
If you weren’t there, watching from the very start – in 1963. Then there is the incarnation of the Doctor, with whom you grew up watching. Also, the version of the Doctor – with whom – you most identify with.
Or maybe, you are a younger fan of the classic series; coming to Old Who – many years after it had ended – and have the benefit of being able to review the whole era – in one go.
You maybe discovered your favourite Doctor, by having watched VHS tapes, DVDs – or Blu-ray releases – of an era; prior to your own.
For instance, I grew up through the 80’s and remember watching Davison, Baker and McCoy Doctor eras. However, the Doctors with whom I most related, was; Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee. Only from the newly released (late 80’s) VHS tapes, which I used to collect and watch, avidly.
So for me, when looking at the 80’s era (Davison, Baker and McCoy). I liked them all (in different ways) but really, I would have liked to have grown up, watching the 70’s era of Pertwee – [Tom] Baker era.
