The Valeyard, appeared as a prosecutor, who tried the captured Sixth Doctor in Gallireyian court for stealing a Tardis and going on the run and subsequently, for genocide of an alien-race. Later, revealing himself to actually be the Sixth Doctor’s dark alter-ego.
Jayston later reprised the role of The Valeyard for Doctor Who audio dramas. Outside of Who, Jayston appeared in soap operas and guest starred in the BBC’s Only Fools And Horses.
